The Origin of the Species.
Before the era of dive computers, combat swimmers and deep-sea explorers relied on purely mechanical instruments. The DG-B6560 "Oceanic '53" is a faithful homage to the very first dedicated dive watches issued to elite naval forces in the early 1950s. We have resurrected this iconic silhouette with uncompromising modern materials.
The "Liquid" Crystal & Bezel
The most striking feature of the Oceanic '53 is its curvature. We utilized a highly specialized Domed Sapphire Crystal that flows seamlessly into the curved bezel. This creates a mesmerizing "liquid" gloss effect that distorts the dial elegantly at extreme angles, just like the vintage acrylic crystals of the past, but with the extreme scratch resistance of modern sapphire.
Symmetry & "Wabi-Sabi" Lume
For pure aesthetic balance, we opted for a true No-Date dial. The matte black surface provides a high-contrast backdrop for the applied indices (with classic 3-6-9-12 numerals). Filled with a warm, "Aged" colored lume, the watch carries an authentic Wabi-Sabi patina by day and turns into a torch by night. Unlike standard divers, the Oceanic '53 features a Fully Luminous Bezel, allowing you to track elapsed time even in pitch-black conditions.
Premium Cordovan Leather
A true gentleman's tool watch requires the right strap. Instead of generic leather, we equipped the Ref. DG-B6560 with a Premium Cordovan Leather Strap. Known for its incredible durability, dense fiber structure, and rich, non-creasing finish, this strap will mold perfectly to your wrist and develop a unique patina over decades of wear.
Built for the Mission
Under the hood beats the famously reliable Japanese Automatic movement. The solid stainless steel caseback is engraved with crossed combat swords, a quiet nod to the military frogmen who inspired this legendary design.
